the margin, I have the honour
to inform you that as the term
of appointment of Sir Henry
Edward Pollock, Kt., K. C., LI. D., as representative of
the Justices of the Peace in the Legislative Council expired on the 16th January, the necessary steps were taken
to secure the recommendation of a successor.
2.
Sir Henry Pollock was the only candidate
nominated, and I have, therefore, re-appointed him, provisionally and subject to His Majesty's pleasure, to be an Unofficial Member of the Council. A copy of the provisional instrument for this re-appointment is enclosed.
